I have also purchased HST and I am wondering how long it takes to put all of your assignments in? Are you doing it once a week? I am not quite sure what I am doing, but I thought once we got going it would be easy to use the HST and TOG. I am also new to TOG and am wondering if I have bitten off... What I am doing with HST+ is setting all the reading assignments, math, and anything else I want my ... their planners, shuffle those "Monday" assignments around in HST to reflect which day they actually were ... , let them fill in their planners first, then input assignments, details into HST under the correct... I am new to TOG and HST Plus this year. But I did put in all the assignments into HST ... all the reading into HST. I set up a schedule, so all the reading assignments are all in one day. I ... on which days they will read what pages. I have set up times in HST, but I don't know how effective... Jumping in late, but I was wondering how y'all handle the writing assignments and inputting them into HST? I have used the Lesson Plan feature for history, geography, etc., but haven't figured out how to handle writing. Any suggestions?... I have courses under my English/Lit subject, and one of them is writing, the other is literature. I just make them each worth .5 credits. We also do vocabulary, but I leave that as no credits in the HST. I just don't want to divide things up three ways!... Hi Melora, I have been using HST for about 3 years now. I do not know how I would plan without it. Under the Teacher sec. in Lesson Plans: I have plan names for TOG - Year (?) Upper Grammar, Then I would have another for TOG - Year (?) Dialectic, ect. That way when you go back to retreave the plan... Another thing I wanted to mention is I think with TOG, it might be easier to use HST+ differently ... then going to use her planner (with her record of her completed work for the week) to put it into HST+, so ... hours. I just don't think I want to type *all* the information into HST+ and give her that to follow... lesson plans into HST, but did the first four weeks of the first unit completely. Now, about a week beforehand, I finalize the following week in HST before submitting it to the assignment grid. To help ... history reading assignments on Monday. Then, on HST I bring up the report screen, assignments by day... Hi Shelly, I just saw your post. I spent the summer learning HST. It was quite overwhelming, but once I understood it, it made so much sense. I also spent the summer inputting the assingments for TOG (Literature, History-core, History-indepth and Church History) into the lesson planner. In addition... I am new to TOG. Starting with Year 1. I am doing my planning for next year and have used HST for the past year and really liked it. Homeschool Tracker is great, and the basic edition is free! If you have a PC you can just download it; if you have a Mac, you will need to use Bootcamp (if you have Leopard) or VMWare Fusion. It's easy and adaptable to TOG! (There is a thread on here too that talks about HST and ideas for using...
