I am new to TOG and due to receive my shipment Monday! At least for the beginning of the year, my 6th grader will be UG. I'm not sure how long he should be there, but I have been advised that is the best place for him to start. My question is, if both of my children are working in UG will there a conflict of one needing the book but the other isn't finished yet? Has this been a problem for anyone? Hoping this wasn't a silly question as I am still struggling with what to expect from our big change in curriculum. Confused

Thanks!

My boys are sharing the dialectic books. It hasn't been a problem. If they are only reading the assigned sections it hasn't taken long. AS far as the literature, what we have done is had posted notes. Each one has a different color and marks it where he stops.

Heather,

My children often share books and they have learned if someone is reading it when they want it, they just let them know to get it to them when they are done and go on to something else until they are done. We have never had any trouble with someone not getting an assignment done.

Heather,

One suggestion - you might have them use different-colored bookmarks, so if one has done the work and the other hasn't, the second one can easily find his/her place.
