This is to the Lampstand Press family:
First of all I want to thank you for the million Blessings you have brought to my family with your curriculum. We have homeschooled for 10 years and this is the only curriculum that we stayed with. Last year I was very sick and most of the time could not manage to form any type of lesson plans, but because of TOG my Rhetoric level girls got the education they needed. Our prayers are with you and all of the families that make Lampstand Press. Now this is to LP and customers: We have been self employed for many years and as a small business we absolutely understand the ups and downs, the sacrifices, the late nights, and the long days of hard work to make a business run. In the past two years our business has been hit hard because of the economy. We have laid off workers and as a family we have made changes at home too. In the way we shop for food, not driving all over town, not being able to go out to eat anymore, not being able to go to the movies or even icecream. With a business you also know that sometimes you will have to make tough decisions in order to stay in business. If that means going from a printed curriculum to digital, well then that is what needs to happen. We have to remember that the Sommervilles also have to worry about other families that work for them. We have also changed schooling at home, sometimes we have been able to afford some books and other times we just go to the library to sign them out or use the library for the day, print SAP in black and white, print one map out and share the work, etc. there is always a way. The point that I want to make is that everyone has to make changes, everyone has to make sacrifices. Growing up in the Army, because of the different places we have lived we could not assume that we would always have the conveniences of living in the USA, so changes were made and you become accustomed to it and learn along the way that our Heavenly Father does not leave you in time of need. Everything happens for a reason and we can all learn from it. I truly believe that only great things will happen when following the Word and Praying through every decision. I know I probably do not make sense by now, but whatever happens my family's love and prayers are with you all at Lampstand, and we admire the strength that I know you have to be able to deal with a business in these hard times. PS- I, too, am excited about the digital version of TOG! Had to add and change my wording on a couple of things, my husband corrected me. Blessings, lourdes |

Thanks very much for your encouragement! It's truly a blessing to hear understanding and prayers going up on our behalf!
Blessings, Dana C. in TN "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!" Deut. 32:2-4 |
