This might be a silly suggestion, or not. Since there are so many people that really want the option of cutting and pasting the SAPs, why not offer just the Loom CD for an additional cost to those that want to do more than just print the SAP as is? That way there isn't the hassle of dealing with copyright issues, because everything in there is already copyrighted as necessary. Just a thought.

Blessings,
Jennifer

For Year 3 customers, we're mounting today the SAPs on their online Loom, so they'll have the capability. For all others, we're going to reformat the content and add it as a free upgrade to all who bought DE. This process will take well into next week, because of being short staffed through the holiday.

The good news is this: we HAVE found a way!

Blessings,
Marcia

My thanks to you as well. I appreciate the attention that you and your team have given to our concerns. I'm sure that I am going to really appreciate aspects of TOG DE, but I appreciate your willingness to recognize my desire to keep some things truckin' along as usual.

We are a computer-driven homeschool. Truly. But sometimes I want to put the whole thing to the curb and be DONE with it. Smiler Sometimes I feel like I need a part-time technology person just to teach. Dog chasing the tail and all. So yes, I hear you. I'm sure that digital TOG is going to rock. I just need to know that my fallback plan is still there for those days when the world of 0's and 1's isn't being very nice to me. Smiler (I can hear my 15 year-old son's voice NOW as he follows me around trying to help, "Mom's on a rant again. It's the end of the world.... Here we go...." He's smiling and trying to keep things light while I'm making apocalyptic pronouncements in frustrated tones about how all of this technology is just a colossal waste of time and money and how I HATE it... even though we BOTH know that isn't true.)

So thanks. Sometimes I just need my blankie!

Peace,
Janice

I do not cut and paste the SAP that I print, but I appreciated having them on the Loom as one document. Thank you for taking the extra time to post the document for us.

Printing out the SAP went much more quickly than when I had to open a different file for each week. I have a different number of children in each TOG level, so an even greater improvement would be to have a separate document for each level. For example, one document for only rhetoric SAP.

May God continue to bless and prosper TOG as you minister to so many families (and a whole bunch of picky moms!)

Oh you all are AMAZING! We're making it work already without too much inconvenience, but the extra perk of manipulating the SAPs is just great!

I wanted to add that no matter what, we're sticking with TOG, regardless of version, classic, redesigned, DE, whatever. It has been an invaluable resource in worldview, among other things for my family as we navigate the waters of these times. Thank you.

Marcia, does that mean everything that is usually on the Loom will be Cut and Pastable? I cut and paste the alternative resources from the Loom to keep track of information about the different books and it was a lot easier when I could just select all of the info and paste it into Excel instead of retyping everything.

I keep track of the books by recording if they are at the library or if I own them as well as rating the books so I know in four years if I want to use the book again or not.

Thank you for your patience and work to make DE better. I can see that there can be improvement with DE, however your willingness to listen and change and work with us is a great encouragement.

May the Lord bless your efforts.

Dear Tanei (and others),

Our problems are several with regard to cutting/pasting, and with future changes to TOG DE.

1. Piracy. It's real and we know for a fact that it goes on among some of our customers. For instance, people have publicly posted that they know friends who signed our agreement to not resell their Classic so they could get Redesigned at half price, and then turned around and did sell it. Very discouraging to say the least. We can't afford to not be as wise as serpents, as much as we would love to give it all away if we are going to have enough resources to even finish TOG, let alone be in business for future buyers to obtain TOG. Please understand: we are not seeking riches, we're seeking to remain able to provide TOG at all.

2. Our contributors. We have to constantly keep those who have contributed their hard work to TOG to benefit you in mind, and protect their work, even if we are willing to take chances on our own work. We cannot compromise their rights in our decisions.

3. You, our users. We certainly want to make TOG as useful as we can.

That said, DE download customers should be able to return to Excel documents of our Alternate Book lists some time in the coming year, because we can now update them far easier via downloads. We'll let you know when this feature is a reality.

Thanks for all the kind words, ladies! They are much needed and appreciated.

Blessings,
Marcia

Thanks Marcia,

An Excel Document with Book updates would be great.

I can understand the discouragement about piracy and I am glad that you are proactive in avoiding it.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to being on this journey with you. I thank the Lord that he kept bringing TOG to mind as I was considering where to go with our Homeschool.

He is Good.

Thanks!! I am liking the DE more and more. I still have to download mine. (Just a bit slow right now due to still being in unit 2).

About the piracy- It is too bad that the very people that is doing this is hurting the rest of us. Do know that there are people like us that do value the time and effort you put in to TOG. I used the offer of 50%. I still have the Classic and have no intent to sell since I signed the agreement. I am so thankful that you trusted us. I do understand you have to be proactive about this. I would be too! It is maddening though those piracy people hurt the rest of us that are honest and trustworthy!

Blessings~

I agree, Holly. It's just another evidence of how much we all need the Savior that God has so graciously (and lavishly) provided to us all.

Thank you so much for the upgrade! I've only this past week downloaded my Y2 U3/4 DE and the one complaint I had about it was that I couldn't make my dialectic student's SAPs more like a worksheet. Bravo for helping us out!

My question is this, who do we contact to get the free upgrade mentioned in your 12/29 post or will you make some sort of announcement when it is ready?

Thank you so much for all you do -

I don't understand the comments on TOGblog about copy/paste. I had the impression that upper level activity sheets could be selectively copied.

However, with Y2 DE, I can't copy anything at all, not even D/R levels.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Also, what is the go-to page for the latest info about Y2 DE? I feel as if I get conflicting info between emails and different parts of the site.
