Question #3 asks the children to think about the lie the midwives told to Pharoah.

There are threee referencs listed to help them think all around the idea that they lied.
Acts 5:29 (Peter says choose God over men),
Proverbs 12:22 (lieing is an abomination to the Lord),
and Joshua 2:1-3 (the story of Rahab telling a lie to protect the men of God);

My boys were still a little confused and I didn't want to just tell them how to think so we went to Hebrews 11:17-31(God places Rahab in the "Hall of Faith).

Then we discussed Rahab's mind set when she made the choice. She was at risk no matter what she chose. Choice 1 - her risk was to tell a lie (choosing God over men)and risk being caught and killed by her people now. Choice 2 - her risk was to tell the truth, protect herself now, and die eternally.

This discussion opened their eyes wider about the lie the midwives told. I share this because it was so encouraging to discuss this kind of truth in this way. This curriculum offered me a forum to have this experience with my children. I feel so grateful!
