I was working on transcripts and wanted to include separate pages with course descriptions. Has anyone out there already done this? Are there course descriptions somewhere on the Tapestry site or on the Loom?

Dear Meg,

To write our course descriptions, I listed the materials used, the requirements (found on The Loom where it says High School Credits), the topics studied and selections read (found in the Scope and Sequence).

I have been using the sample comprehensive record from www.thehomescholar.com to work on my oldest's transcripts. I've used some of her course descriptions and have tweaked others.

For Tapestry, I used a lot of information about the specific years included in the Base Unit of Classic. I believe that this information would be on the Loom, also. This is the general topics covered over the year type of information. I included Spine (Core) books for my Primary Texts and then included a Supplemental Reading list that had all of the Rhetoric Level books on it (title/author). We are in the process of having him look it over to see if he actually read the books on the Supplemental list or not. I also listed the Literature and Worldview books separately.

I hope that this helps you. This is how I described Y3 History:

""Course Description
Social Studies: History of the World: the 1800s

This course is a literature-based study of world history with a focus on American History and government: from the Constitution through 1900. The course includes a review of the Constitution, Jeffersonian Democracy, the Federalist Era, the Monroe Doctrine, the Jacksonian Era, the Industrial Revolution, the American Civil War, Reconstruction, and the growth of America up to the turn of the century. The French Revolution, the Revolutions of 1830, European Imperialism, and Victorian England are also covered, as well as various artistic movements, such as Romanticism and Impressionism.""

Blessings to you and your family.
