Week 1 mainly deals with life in Ancient Egypt. I'm trying to understand how Chapter 6 of Lila Perl's "Ancient Egyptians" (Dialiectic History reading) fits into that. It seems to be mainly a discussion of the military history of Egypt, following it through to its decline after Alexander the Great's conquest. I know because of my lack of understanding I won't teach it effectively as it seems to me to be a chapter unrelated to the topics of discussion and the accountability questions this week. Can somebody please send me some pointers as to how to best include discussions on this chapter during Week 1?

It might help to know that not everything read about has questions or discussion. Sometimes information is read simply to expand the student's knowledge base and give him a broader picture about the time frame.
