I am starting Y1 U1 next week with
kids ages 10,8,5 &4.  I am trying to wrap my mind
around everything including writing Aids and what
priority i should give to what subjects.  This is my 2nd
year HS.  Last year seemed like "what do they know"
and just getting use to the change.  What advice
does anyone have for me???

Lissa,

1. Pray
2. Start slooooooowly
3. Consider starting your school year with Bible reading, math, phonics/reading only.
4. Next, add hands on projects (because that's really how your littles will absorb what they hear/read), history read alouds, and spelling next. Writing assignments in Tapestry also start slowly and build through the first unit. They shouldn't overwhelm you for your older two at this stage.
5. Once that's all working well, add in other subjects and assignments.
6. Remember that all your children will cover the content of the Tapestry year plan again before they graduate. Focus on the basics (God's Word, math, reading, how to write great sentences/paragraphs).
7. Pray some more.

You'll get there!
Monica
