what resources have you found helpful?

The dates I'm finding are so confusing! I'd like to have one resource I can use to choose dates for both Biblical and world history events.

Any suggestions?

We use Ussher's Annals of the World. It gives dates for Biblical and World History from 4004 BC (Creation) to 73 AD.

Another book based on Usshers' is Dr. Floyd Nolen Jones Chronology of the Old Testament. This book comes with a CD that has several detailed wall sized chronological timeline charts. This book is interesting because Jones has done the Biblical math to show that Ussher's dates are correct.

Also we use The Time Chart of Biblical History. This charts out Ussher's dates. Very fascinating!

Thanks so much Kristen! I was beginning to think I was the only one trying to date events this way. I had been looking at Ussher's book, but wasn't sure. I did order the Timeline Chart, so that should help. Thank you for the Nelson Jones book suggestion - -I'll look into that one too.
