Just an FYI on our experience and a thanks to the Bookshelf Central staff.... Smiler

I just received an enormous box of books from Dana's bookshelf. It was beautifully packed and everything arrived in pristine condition.

I have been buying books online for years. In the beginning the big guy - Amazon - did a great job packing my books. Now I receive damaged books all the time; sometimes they are even just thrown loose in the box. I have learned to live with lots of rumpled books because I just don't want to take the time to send them back.

I just purchased nearly $500 worth of books from the Bookshelf for our year 3 studies next year. The site was so easy to navigate - everything was there - so it was easy to add things to my cart as I compared the booklist to my personal library's software (Yes! I have a lot of books so I track it with software.) Using Dana's notes and my copy of TOG, I could easily see where I could substitute books that I already own. I reviewed everything, and I hit the "order" button.

The books arrived in a timely manner. And I would have to say that it has been a long time since I have received such a large box of books that were so well packed.

In an age where I feel like customer service has fallen into the abyss - reserved only for those who are willing to take the time to really put up a stink, I would like to commend you on a job well done. As I unwrapped the plastic from the books, I really felt like you cared about my books. I know that books are to be used; we will read them and even write in some. We will bend the covers back and stuff the novels into our bags to drag around with us. But before we start, I do love the way they look all lined up on the shelf in pristine condition. I love receiving them in fresh, new condition.

Thanks for that, Dana! Kudos to your staff!

Peace,
Janice

Hi Janice,
Thanks so much for the encouraging words! We do work hard to take great care of your books so I'm glad to hear that they didn't get jostled around during shipping!

Blessings,

Dana C. in TN

I agree with you, Janice!

I recently ordered books for year 4 unit 1. I qualified for free shipping (media mail), so I went for it. Now I have to wait for the post office to get around to getting my eagerly-awaited box to me. But! I know my books will be in good shape. I generally order two of each of the lit choices (if financially feasible) so each of my guys can have his own copy. The first time I did that, one of Dana's sons called me to make sure I wanted two of those selections. I was very impressed! I am finding Dana's prices to be quite competitive, and I like supporting a company that feels like family (like Tapestry itself), especially when the service is excellent.
Blessings,
April (on the look out for my mailman!)
