I have 4 children. My oldest two will be grade 1 and 3 age this year, a pre-ker and a baby. I've kind of steered away from TOG as I heard it was really teacher intensive. With 4 little ones, I'm not sure how that'd work out. From what I gather, it's a unit study right? We do like those. And I do like being able to teach them all together. That's the main reason I look at TOG. I get over whelmed a little whenever I look at TOG cause of all the info for all the ages on each page. I also really enjoy open and go TM's. How much prep time is their daily? My kids also like hands-on, which is something SL is lacking. SL and Heart of Dakota are the two other programs I'm looking at. But I really want to keep my kids together as much as possible.

Any advice or things I should concider would be appreciated.

We started ToG when our girls were in K and 1st grade. I had a toddler and a baby as well. It was the best decision I have made! We love it!

In the early years, most will recommend that you take two weeks to do every week of the year plan so it will take you two years to get through a year plan. Since your focus really needs to be on establishing a solid foundation in phonics, ToG is just the icing on the cake.

My kids love all the hand-on projects and each year we are incorporating more and more of the program into our homeschool. There is so much information but just remember that when you go to to a buffet resturant you don't plan to each some of everything. Pick and choose what appeals to you, what you have time/room for, and think is appropriate for your children.
