I was perusing unit 4 that just came and saw the instructions for the Constitutional Convention. I actually did this when I taught 8th grade American History. I went to a Law Related Education workshop and got two huge binders of information on various topics and one had a mock constitutional convention. I assigned each student a person and they had a brief outline and then I had them do more research. We rearranged desks and made name plates for them. It is VERY well organized in this binder. Example:

Step 1: Opening statement by George Washington. Following the statement he calls on John Dickinson the delegate from Delaware.

Edmund Randolph presents the Virginia Plan. The following delegates offer their opinion on the plan (there was a sheet the students received that told how they felt about the plan.)
Alexander Hamilton : New York
Gouverneur Morris: Pennsylvania
Benjamin Franklin: Pennsylvania

It was a wonderful experience. Here is the website to the Texas LRE. I don't know if you could get a copy of it or not, but you could e-mail and ask. Worst they could say would be no

Also, I found a very abbreviated version of it here:

Have fun!
