Difference between classic and redesigned Year 1 and 2?

I once owned the classic versions....but my kids were just in K, and I sold them. Now they are older, and I am looking at TOg again. How is the reesigned different? I know there are prob many posts about this, can someone direct me? I would lean toward doing classic, unless it is hugely improved...thanks!
