I'm needing to make a decision regarding which world religions book to purchase. The 128-page Internet-Linked Encyclopedia of World Religions is the selection for Dialectic and the 200+ page DK World Religions is the choice for Rhetoric. I have a 14yo doing a combo of D and R and two 11yos who are UG and will moving into D next year. I already own the 64-page Usborne World Religions book. From a budget perspective, I would rather not purchase both books at this point. Would the Dialectic choice provide enough info to be used for Rhetoric as well? Or should I use the 64-pager for the a UG/D overview and order the R level book for my 9th grader? TIA!

Blessings,
Sandy

I think if you get the D book for now that you can make that work. However if you go forward, you'll eventually want to get the R book as it will be used a lot.

Hi!

I agree with Pat. The R book is a huge jump in vocabulary and level of detail from the D book. The size of the type is much smaller in the R book so quite a bit more verbage is in each reading assignment, too. The D book has so many internet links that you could likely supplement the reading with some online research.

Enjoy!
