Has anyone read the book Peril and Peace Volume I: Chronicles of the Ancient Church?

I saw this recommended on another book list and purchased it, but am wondering if anyone has experience with this book. How accurate is it? That is my main concern. I would like to read this aloud to all my children, so just looking for comments.

I just recently bought the first three books in this series as recommended by Ria (you could look under Y2 History "additional book suggestion for church history for UG and D students). My 10 year old son is a bit difficult to please when it comes to literature and he is really enjoying Peril and Peace so far. Another series he really enjoys is the living history library (God King, Hittite Warrior etc...)-several of these are recommended in the Tapestry curriculum--and he said Peril and Peace is almost as good as those (quite a complement! ) I have not had time to read them, but briefly read parts of the first few chapters and they seem to be very well written. Hope that is helpful!
