Hello

I am thinking of using Write At home Comp 1 foundations class for my 9th grader. I want to incorporate that into the English credit along with TOG.

I am looking at the Loom Credits for yr 3. According the paper, Honors English 1 they are to complete all assignments and at least 30 weeks of composition assignments from both lit and writing. I am not sure if the write at home will be too much.
I can do English 1 with the 3/4 of the assignments in both lit and writing with only 3 papers written. I want my son to do the honors English but want the Write at home course to be done so he can do better at writing.

I have several questions:

1) If I want to have the Honors English credit for my son, how much writing do I cut out to make room for write at home class?

2) On the Honors section of the English credit, it is written that at least 30 weeks of composition assignments from both lit and writing has to be completed. I am not seeing this in my books. Where is this at? Also does this mean he has to write 2 papers a week one from lit and one from writing?

Thanks!

Did you know Write At Home will grade TOG assignments? I spoke to someone at a home school conference in the spring and they have changed the program from what it was, but they do still grade and give feed back on TOG assignments, it's now part of the Pay Per Paper Program.

hhmm

No I haven't heard that.

I will have to talk to them about that. Do you think TOG writing and Write at home will be too much?

I am not good at writing. I am not confident that my son is a good writer in the format writing stuff.

Thanks!!

I would not do both Write at Home and TOG writing. If you do the Write at Home course, then I would only add on a literary analysis paper and a literary comparison paper. The TOG literature plans will tell you when to have your son write these.

Hey, Holly.

I agree with Susan. If your son does the WAH course, that should be plenty to keep him busy! Just supplement with the lit assignments.

If you use TOG's writing component and submit papers through WAH's pay-per-paper program, I am the WAH writing coach who will review your son's papers. If you would like to talk more about your options, please don't hesitate to contact me privately via email.

Grace to you,
Teri
