I hope that I'm not missing something. Question 14 in the multiple choice section asks "Which of the following did NOT contribute to Napoleon's downfall". The correct answer is listed as C. The Third Coalition.

Now, I know that the Third Coalition wasn't successful militarily against Napoleon (ie. Austerlitz) but wouldn't it have done more to wear down Napoleon than the Continental System which was Napoleon's embargo of British goods? I know that embargo wasn't very helpful either, and it even hurt France in some ways, but I think that the correct answer would be B. The Continental System.

Would someone mind helping me out on this one. I think I missed something...

Thank you for your question, Frances! It is actually the case that the Third Coalition did not contribute to Napoleon's downfall, since Napoleon defeated the Third Coalition in 1805. Because the Continental System actually hurt French merchants more than the British, it can be considered as something that contributed to Napoleon's downfall. But this is a tricky question, and our purpose is not to confuse students, so we will reword the question as follows: "Which of the following contributed to Napoelon's downfall?" with these options: a) The Peninsular War b) Battle of Waterloo c) The Invasion of Russia d) All of the above. D is the correct answer
