Yikes! Unit Four on the Lit doc on the Loom does not have any recommendations for titles to skip. Christy, can you help? I don't want to buy something I am not going to use because are following the Lit program as it is recommended to cut.

Thanks!

Hi! Sorry about that... we should put those up since people are coming into Unit 4...

The answer is that the last two weeks (35 and 36) are "cuttable" (Ibsen's "A Doll's House" and Wilde's "An Ideal Husband"). :-) Together these two weeks constitute a light mini-unit on nineteenth-century theater and opera, but if you want to skip them or just watch video recordings, feel free!

HTH!

Thanks Christy, it does. I thought you might mention the Patience DVD. Smiler

I can't wait to get my unit and check that out. I have never heard of it and am wondering all about it.

Have a wonderful day!

Ibsen's "Doll House" doesn't even come up as a title on the Bookshelf. Here is the list for R lit off the Bookshelf:

Crime and Punishment
Heart of Darkness and the Secret Sharer
Ideal Husband,
Making of a Poem,
Patience (DVD)
Poetry Handbook,
Words of Delight: A Literary Introduction to the Bible

Lisa---Well, there's also Patience, which is oh-so-cuttable. :-) (But also oh-so-fun, so don't cut it unless you need to!)

Dawn---That's because both Death of Ivan Ilyich and A Doll's House are part of our Shorter Works Anthology because they are both short-ish. However, you can also purchase them separately on Amazon or get them from the library. Page #'s don't really matter all that much for those two. :-)
