Hi moms (and dads ) ,
by this time you have probably heard about the decision last week here in CA. A judge found that we in California do not "have a constitutional right to homeschool" our children! The family involved aren't members of HSLDA and therefore weren't represented by them; HSLDA only found about the judgment after it had been passed. Of course now they are vigorously involved!

Please go to www.hslda.org and sign the petition to have this ruling "depublished" (which means it could not be used in future California cases). And...please PRAY!! Perhaps this will be an awesome opportunity to educate many about the blessings and benefits of homeschool as it will certainly be much in the public eye for a while.

I am in Ca. also, and justwanted to add that you do not have to be a Ca. resident to sign. I have talked to some people out of state who were not aware of that.

But yes, please be praying. God is in control.

Not only does this affect California homeschoolers, but it could very possibly have a far reaching affect across our nation. Everyone in all the 50 states should be upset about this horrible decision.

It looks like Governor S. will support homeschoolers if the courts fail to do so. But with his support, I'm sure will come a list of new laws for California homeschooling families. That may or may not be so good.

Again, please sign the petition at Home School Legal Defense Assoc. You do not need to live in California, be a homeschooler, or be a member of HSLDA. Anyone can sign the petition, encourage all your family and friends to do so.
