For those of you on the boards -

my dh has been out of work since 5/07. He is currently interviewing in NC at a college - the position sounds good, but we want to be doing the Lord's will.

Would you pray that he would effectively communicate, and that the Lord would clearly open or shut doors for us?

Thanks - the interview went well, now we're just waiting to hear. AND - he need to sort out if college is where he should be.

We'd appreciate any continued prayers as the Lord brings us to mind - battling serious discouragement over the low value of our house. Sigh. God is in control - but sometimes it doesn't feel like it.

Remember its not how we feel- its who God is- he promises never to leave us or forsake us. A missionary friend in Uganda posted this on her website(and they too have had tough times):

And still there is hope: Over the last few months I have felt my baseline missing, felt that the source and essence of who I am, God in and around me, has been hard to feel or sense. I have felt that when hard times inevitably come, I will collapse, not held by that bottom-of-my-pyramid, my God. Yet as a wise friend reminded me, God is very much still there, and though I don’t always feel him holding me up, when I fall He will catch me. And now I can sense Him. Now I am falling. And He is catching me now and I can feel His arms, His heart, his presence sustaining me. Sometimes it’s only in the falling that we can feel Him with us.

This has been our overwhelming experience - that we don't understand, but we know that God is good and He is our strength and our hope, even when we're not sure which way to turn.

We've had some good lessons on perservering through trials, not automatically looking to escape them. Very, very encouraging. Consider it all joy! We are praying that these lessons will not be lost on our dc - may the Lord make Himself very real to all of us, each day. . .
