She has been having kidney problems since her last chemotherapy and some of her "other" numbers have been off. She has been hospitalized for over a week and it seems like each day lately they hope for a discharge the next day and then are disappointed. Pray for her little body!

Also pray for her mom. She hasn't been able to get any Christmas stuff done in the house and folks at our church are buying Christmas presents for the kids to help out with the time and finance crunch they are under. Pray that Donna will be able to relax in His grace and enjoy Christmas wherever they are whether it is at the hospital or home. (No matter how the house looks, too!)

Destinee's parents think the problems she is having with her kidneys are related to some anti rejection medications she is taking. I don't know if she will be able to switch to something else or not.

In the mean time she made it home a few days before Christmas and the family had a great Christmas Day! Her mom got enough done to the house to feel Christmassy and her adult sister had a baby the day Destinee got home from the hospital! Folks from church all bought gifts to fill the wish list all the kids had given a friend and a bunch went to their house caroling, too. I believe some of the gifts were money to help with the addition, even!

God is working on the needed addition and the Make a Wish Foundation has visited them about Destinee's Wish. Her biggest wish is to be with her family and grandparents in a cabin near the Grand Canyon for a family reunion. (Which is near her grandparents homes.) The big catch to that one being her oldest brother is currently serving in Iraq.

The kidney Dr. saw Destinee this week. He says the kidney issues are probably related to the chemo and that the anti rejection drugs would be affecting her that way only after years and years of high doses.

They see the transplant team to check healing, etc. and they also will be seeing the oncologist in charge of that care, I believe.

At this point her immunity needs to improve some so they are being extra careful regarding infections. She also needs to improve on the kidney front.

The good news is that she is doing well enough to have a little more interest in life and is starting to catch up on her school work.

Someone is going to pour the slab for the extra room and there is hope that another company may build the room for them instead of all their friends. I don't know details on this, though.

D. turns 12 tomorrow. I would have gotten you in on sending her cards if I hadn't been in the hospital, so involved in my baby's hospital stay. Sorry!

She has some health issues going on. A clot near her port and some not too nice blood work results. She is going to be having a bone marrow test this week. Pray for her pain level and for encouraging results.
