Dear praying TOG friends,
We would appreciate prayers for our family as we face a winter lay-off for my dh. All workers are being cut back to working just one day per week for the months of Nov, Dec and Jan. Last year it was similar, but they didn't call dh back to work for two months longer than promised. It took us months to catch up with finances, and now we are here again. It is no fun trying to get by on half of your income, but tests of faith are not usually meant to be fun - right?

Dh feels it is time to apply elsewhere, so during the layoff he will do that. This company has not kept their word on several occassions, and so he feels he must seriously search for more dependable income. He is 57 years old though, and feels so overwhelmed. We are really praying that another offer comes in. Unemployment is really high, especially in our area, but despite these things I am reminded that God is greater than our situation, no matter how grim it seems to our natural eyes.

I work part time as an art teacher at a private Christian school, and also privately to hs students. I'm encouraged that recently I got more students, so am trusting that the Lord will provide in this way so that I can help through the winter. We are committed to continuing the hs'ing of our daughter, so it really helps to have more students.
