Hi! I am looking into using TOG, but I live in the UK. How easy will it be to add in some extra UK based stuff instead of some of the heavily US stuff? I know that a lot of American aspects are relevant to a world view, but I don't want to miss some of our rich British heritage. Thanks!

Hi Carrie,

While there is lots of British history in all four of our year-plans, it is, of course, seen from the American shores/point of view. (Though we do have British authors writing some of our resources, so this is not universally true.)

What users like you must do is look over the year-plan you hope to use in order to determine how much you want to substitute. You can get SOME idea by looking at the home pages for each year-plan. Naturally, you won't need to substitute much (if any) of Year 1 or Year 2 (Units 1-2). There is much European history in the remaining two units of Year 2. Then, in Year 3, we cover Victorian England, the Crimean War, Concert of Europe, Bismarck, etc. quite extensively. We even hit Australia, New Zeland, and the British Empire as we explore the Age of Imperialism.

I would say that the British Isles are the least closely covered in Year 4, all told.

I hope this helps!

Blessings,
Marcia

Thank you so much Marcia! May I just say how super efficient the support is on here - I cannot sing praises highly enough - it just continues to cement my thoughts that this will be right for us.
