Hi,

I had done Classic year 4 rhetoric with my dd 4 years ago and now have a son in the 9th grade. You core history books have changed greatly. I was wondering the reasoning for not using "The Century" by Peter Jennings, the "20th Century" and a "History of the US" by Paul Johnson. Were these too difficult or just went out of print? My dd was in the 10th grade when she did this and seemed to do okay. I am wondering about my ds who is in the 9th grade.

Hi Jennifer,
The only one still in print is the one by Johnson, and we felt that it simply couldn't stand alone and also needed more warnings that we would like to have to give. Thus, we found what we believe are better books. The Jennings books are both alternates though if you'd like to still use them.
