I have an LG 1st grader. We are using Year 2 and I am wondering about teaching things like pronouns and adverbs this young. I was thinking that was more of a 3rd grade thing. Is level 1 intended to use with a 1st grader?

Hi,
Yes, Level 1 is intended to use with a first grade student. However, in no way do we expect that a child this young will master these concepts. We only suggest that they work with their card bank, learning that different colored cards can be used in sentences. These different colored cards represent parts of speech. Hope this helps... I also noticed in the second unit of Y2 they begin learning about sentences and than in the third unit paragraphs. So I see and understand the method better now. |
