Okay, I may be blind, but I've looked on the Loom, on the TOG website & also my WA disk. Is there an electronic copy of the weekly Writing Assignments? I'd like to print it out to give to my kids every week. I can scan and copy my printout, but it would be easier if it were on my computer somewhere.

Am I missing it?

Hi,

No, you're not missing it. The weekly writing assignments (red pages in Redesign) are not available electronically. The only place you'll find these is in the year plan. At least, that's the only place that I know about Smiler

However, there is an excellent resource available on the Loom that is called the Writing Level Overview. This shows the year at a glance for each level to help you plan the writing for the year in a general way. Then, each week, you refer to the red pages in the weekly plan to get specific suggestions on how to tie it in with the topics covered in history that week.

The "how to write" is covered in the Writing Aids program, which is a separate purchase from you initial year plan. You don't have to have Writing Aids to complete the writing assignments in TOG. However, it is so much easier with Writing Aids! It really helps to break the writing down into bite size pieces for both the teacher and the child.

I think your only question was about where to find the e-version of the red pages listing each week's writing assignment. I know I answered more than you asked, but it seems like the whole writing component is confusing to many users and I didn't want to cause confusion in trying to help you out Smiler

Blessings,
Eia

Eia,

Thank you! At least I know I'm not crazy... Wink

I did buy Writing Aids, and I can already see it will help me teach writing, which is my weak point. Latin & Greek? No problem. Geography & math? A breeze. But writing? Yikes! Smiler

I can not find the Writing Level Overview for Year 1. I see it on the Loom for Year 2.

Hi Shawna,
It should be on your Loom disc.

That section on my loom disc will not let me access it. Everything else will pop up, but in the planning section it says it cannot find the file.
Thanks,
Shawna

Hi Shawna,
That's odd. Did you try it on a different computer? Also, restart your computer and see if it now recognizes it. If it still doesn't work after trying these two things, let me know and we'll see what else we can do.

Blessings,
