I am using the Classic Y1 and I have a question about the writing. I was wondering what it meant when it is talking about the handbook? What are they, do I need them, ect...? Also lapbooks. Do I need them? How much of an asset are they?

If you are going to use the Tapestry writing assignments, then you do need a handbook. I would recommend Writing Aids, which is published by Tapestry. It covers all genres for all year plans for all levels. You can find it at The Bookshelf.
