I just can't believe how great this week has been. This is my first week of TOG. I have tried the other "literature rich" program three times and various others. I am just amazed! This is exactly what I have been searching for. All those years of looking at TOG and thinking I could not handle it. I finally bought year one (how that came about was nothing short of God intervening during my trip to the homeschool convention), I studied for 3 months, planning, buying supplies, set up notebooks and prayed. Then three days before our start date I sprained my ankle, my three children got the croup and my mom was hospitalized. I was thinking, here I go again I will never follow though with my plans. I prayed more and was determined to just try my best. All things considered this was the BEST time of school we have ever had (this is my 7th year)
My children are 11dd, 7ds and 2dd. They are so happy with the projects (we did the Egyptian doll this week and plan to start the Egyptian collar tomorrow)and books. They also loved the Geography and maps. I am just in awe. Every time I watched the Intro to Tapestry dvd, read the teacher notes and read the forums I really felt that this curriculum has the Lord's blessing. I really felt His spirit guiding me through this whole process. I just can't say enough about this week. I had to tell this. A sincere thank you to Marcia and the others at Tapestry. I am so grateful for the wonderful work you have passed my way.

Now I have to clean the house! Big Grin School was too much fun and we let the other stuff slide. Oh well, there is always something else for me to work on.

Sounds like a great first week, despite the physical setbacks! I hope you share some pictures of your projects! Here is a link to the ones we've done so far: History Project Pictures

Melanie.. thanks for sharing that. How glorified the LORD is in your post! Posts like yours give us much grace to continue our efforts on behalf of homeschoolers! They make us feel that all our hard work is not in vain. Thanks for taking the time to tell us, and I hope all ankles and coughs heal soon!

Blessings,
Marcia
