Hi everyone!

After much searching, I was led to Tapestry of Grace for my son. I have a few months to get everything I need.

I wondered if there was a book list for Classic Year 1 Rhetoric? I can't seem to find one. Is the book list at the Bookshelf applicable Classic or Redesign (or both)? I reviewed the yellow pages and there are so many books there, I'm feeling overwhelmed. Is there a basic set of resources I will definitely need?

I do not have the other resources, such as the writing cd or quizzes, but will I need them?

Help!

Thank you so much. From what I have seen so far of TOG, it is an answer to prayer.

Since posting I have learned that Book lists are copyrighted. I had no idea.

The booklists at the Bookshelf are specifically for the Redesigned year plans, although you could substitute the books for ones listed in the Classic year plans. Everything but literature is especially easy to substitute for, but I even substituted literature books occasionally without any problems.

The yellow resource list at the beginning of your Classic plan will tell you how long each resource will be used. When I buy books, I prioritize based on how many years, units, and then weeks the resource will be used.

I believe anyone can register at the Lampstand Press store and access most of the resource list features. Also, one can generate a nice booklist at Bookshelf Central to get an idea of how often various resources are used.

What level will your son be doing?

Blessings,

Regarding the resources, I would highly recommend investing in Writing Aids and Map Aids. They are invaluable tools for implementing ToG. They are not required, but make it so much easier!!! I can't say enough good about these additions to the curriculum.
