I am a newbie starting with year4, 4 children- oldest is 11. As I begin I have a few questions: On the reading assignments in week 1 for lower grammar there is a book called "The Little Story of Babaji" yet it is not included in the booklist for Y4U1LG-- I am wondering why and if there are others I should be aware of that need to be purchased but are not on the list?
Also-- I was wondering where I find information on how to place my children in the correct writing levels?
Thank you -Kim

Hi there,
In Year 4, Lower Grammar students use The 20th Century Children's Book Treasury extensively, which includes the Little Story of Babaji, as well as lots of others. In the Reading Assignment Charts, you'll see the Treasury listed and its page numbers.

Typically the writing levels correspond with grade levels. However, I've found that many people entering Tapestry have to move down a level or two the first year. Also, if you look on the Loom, you'll see "Writing Helps" and a "Writing Level Overview" that you can look at to help you decide which level to put your student in. It breaks out the assignments by weeks and you can determine if your student already knows a given skill or needs to review.

The Quick Start Guide can be found here: Explore TOG and click on the red "simple start guide."

Blessings,

like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
I will proclaim the name of the Lord.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!"
