Hi my name is Hope. I am a sahm of a 9yr old dd and an 11 yr ds. I just recently received my TOG yr 1 and can't wait to get started. I would love to hear from all of you that have any advice for a newbie like myself. Is anyone out there from Illinois? I live in Pittsfield IL. Which is in the west central portion of the state. It is nice to meet all of you! May we all keep our eyes on the Lord during our homeschool journey!

I'm from central IL too, but I'm on the east side of the state. I have a good friend from your town though, her name is Paula. She is not a homeschooler, but she loves the Lord! You are so close to the capitol-think of all the easy field trips at your fingertips!!!! I hope you love Tapestry as much as I do.

Hi,
I'm from East Central Illinois, too. Actually Greaci (above poster) is my Homeschool buddy-we live in the same town and now she's got me hooked on TOG! Our family is just starting out this summer actually and I am believing God that this is going to be a blessing to our family.

Hi to all of you! I am so glad we have such a gift as the internet. I was wondering Greaci who your friend Paula is? That is if you feel comfortable letting me know. It seems like such a small world when you are on the internet Smiler

Hi, I live in East Central IL too along with Greaci and Findingmyway. We may be co-oping someday, so if you just want to come down and visit, email one of us privately and we will tell you where we meet. I haven't starting TOG yet, but am starting this year and I can't wait!!!!

I will be moving to IL, near Chicago, in the next couple of months. Does anyone know of other TOGers in that area?

We will be using year 2 redesigned in 2007-2008.

We are leaving an awesome HS group here in San Antonio and I would love to hook up with one up there.

Thanks
Dawn

We live up by Chicago. I am considering TOG for next year. We have a fourth and kinder and two younger ones. I have the three week sampler and boy does it look confusing. I joined here to find out some more info about TOG.

We're in northern Illinois, but I've lived in quite a few parts of the state at different times, moving around with my pastor dad and my own college and job moves, when I was younger. Now we've been up north for 12 years though, so I guess we're settled.

We've done TOG for the past two years. I have 16yo, 14yo, and 8yo dd's and a 12yo ds, so cover all the levels of TOG. We've done virtual co-op for my older two and really enjoyed it. This fall, we are doing a local co-op for the younger ones. We'll be starting Year 1 Redesigned in the fall, after having jumped in at the middle with Year 3 when we first began.

I just saw this post looking for Illinois TOG-ers. During the school year, I don't usually take the time to visit the Forums, but with planning now, it's fun to get out here and meet some other folks and get ideas.

The virtual co-op I've been involved with is a group that "meets" online to do the weekly TOG discussions at Dialectic or Rhetoric level. The moms take turns, dividing up the weeks, to lead the discussions. We use Yahoo Messenger with Voice so that we can actually hear, and speak to, each other. You can find more info about other virtual co-ops under the Co-ops section on the Forum and the different TOG yahoogroups. Or, if you have further specific questions, I'm glad to answer too.

I live in Peoria, IL, and am also looking for local TOG users. This will be my third year homeschooling, but my first year with Tapestry. Anyone in my area?
