I was planning out the rest of the year yesterday and noticed a small descrepency that I need to have cleared up. In week 30 the assignment is to read p.93-top of 97, 104-middle of 107. When I flip over to week 36, the assignment is to read p.91-top of 97, 104-middle of 107, again. Is this the correct assignment in both spots? Also will we be completing the last of the book next year in year 4? Thanks for your help with this.

Thank you for your question. We are very sorry for the confusion.

First, the assignment in Week 36 is a repeat assignment. This is not an error on our part. Because of the nature of some printed resources, there are times when our weekly topics are arranged differently than resource books choose to introduce them. So, on such rare occaisions, we ask student to reread pages with an eye towards specific information. These two assignments are one such case. In the first read through, in Week 30, students are looking for information on European Imperialism in Africa. In Week 36 students read more about the tension in South Africa between the British and the Boers (The Boer Wars.

Normally we try to alert you to this kind of treatment of reading resources. We're sorry that we didn't do so in this case. We'll be sure to put something in Glance Ahead for Week 36 in upcoming revisions.

Also,there is a note in the Week 36 Glance in Week 35 that talks about assigning the final pages in the The British Empire and Queen Victoria book. Because this last chapter extends past the years we study in Year 3, we did not include it in the student's reading assignment. You can feel free to assign it in Week 36 if you want or you can assign it as summer reading.
