We are trying to do some planning for our group so we can order by the 2/1 deadline. Is the book list available yet for Y3 redesign? If not, when will the booklist by ready? Do you expect many changes from the classic? What is the estimated time to each of the Y3 redesign units to be ready?

Hi,
We are still working on the primary resources for Year 3 Redesigned. Yes, many are changing, especially at the dialectic/rhetoric levels. However, if you take a look at the multi-year books for each level, you'll see the presidents books we recommend, as well as a few others.

The books for Unit 1 of Y3 Redesigned are listed on The Bookshelf. You can use the Power Search to see a list of the titles for each learning level or you can go through the 5-Step Process to see pictures and descriptions of the books.

I'm not sure if I'm looking at something wrong here. Just ordered by Y3 and haven't received it yet, so I am going by the listing on the Bookshelf. For Rhetoric literature, I don't see many of the titles listed in the Y3 Scope and Sequence for Rhetoric literature (for instance, Huck Finn, Great Expectations, Crime and Punishment, ...). I'm going to try to pre-read some of these over the summer, but wanting to make sure I'm not missing something.

Is the Scope & Sequence the accurate books for yr. 3 redesigned? I am starting a co-op in Kalamazoo, MI using TOG and I am wanting to explain the curriculum to those who are not familiar with TOG. They are looking for a book list to determine whether this will be appropriate for the learning level of their children. Is the Y3 Scope & Sequence the most detailed explaination of what we will be studying in Rhetoric Level Y3 Redesigned? Is there a better document to point them to?

It is in terms of the rhetoric literature titles and history topics. At this point in the production process, this is your best bet.

I was just wondering how much longer before the books for Y3 Unit 2, 3, & 4 get listed. I really need the list to get some planning done. I ordered my RY3, but I don't have anything to go by. Unfortunately, my summer will not allow me much time because of medical issues with one child.

Please note: Three Year 3 Redesigned products (The Year 3 Loom, Evaluations 3, Map Aids 3) will be in development over the course of the 2008-2009 school year, and will be available as eProducts here at our website. When completed, these will be released in their final CD format and automatically shipped to the purchasers. The online files will continue to be available until all purchasers have received their CD copies.
