Hi,
I've been trying to figure out the geography for my rhetoric level student here this week. She will only be doing paper maps, not the transparency type. When I go to Map Aids, it indicates two maps - the World, and Europe, which we have printed out. But in the notes for students' activities, I see only an assignment for the world map. Is there something I'm missing that directs the students to also produce something that looks like the teacher one of Medieval Europe in this week's assignments? I don't mind looking at the teacher version and then assigning her the labels and landforms myself, but just wondered if I was missing something. Thanks! Jo |

I think that the Europe map is there so that she can do a salt map of Europe as the SAPs suggest under Fine Arts and Activities. The Europe map with answers is for grammar students, I believe.
We have started geography already (nothing else), and we did the salt map yesterday. I was sort of skeptical about its value, but no more! Both my D and my R student took it very seriously, and spent a long time running their fingers over our raised-mountain globe to figure out exactly where to put the mountain ranges and such. I learned a lot about the geography of Europe just by watching them, but I know that they are much more familiar with it now than they were before. I'm looking forward to painting it according to the locations of the barbarian tribes in a couple of weeks!
