I have printed out the "How to Order Tapestry in 5 Simple Steps" pdf. However, only book titles are listed, not authors. When I try to use the listed books to check the libraries in my town, I can't accurately determine whether the libraries have the books because I don't have information on the author of each book. As a result, it is difficult to figure out which books to buy and which books I can borrow from my library.

If I don't yet own the Yr. 2 manual with the reading lists in it, is there some other way to find a complete book list that also includes the authors of each book? I was hoping to order the needed books when I ordered my Yr. 2 teacher manuals.

I am aware that I can go on the Lampstand website and find the authors as each book is listed by section according to multi-year, multi-unit, etc., but with children in 3 levels spread out over 4 units, it is extremely confusing for me to do it this way. I really need to be able to print out the complete list of book titles and authors to work with it while accessing the online catalogs of the 3 libraries in my town.

Thank you!

Ronda,

If there's a list like that available to those who haven't already purchased a year-plan, I'm not aware of it.

I don't know your reasoning for wanting to place all your order at once, but you might want to reconsider that. You may spend a bit more on shipping that way, but if that saves you even one book purchase, it will be worth it.

One reason that the year-plan may be helpful is that you may discover that your library doesn't have one of the recommended resources, but does have an alternate resource that can be substituted. There are also some hints in the manual about how to combine levels if you want to save money (although they're not listed in the best place, in my opinion - the hints are scattered throughout the manual in each week's Glance into next week, rather than collected together the way you want it when you're making purchasing decisions). For example, they sometimes recommend which of the hands-on activity books will work best if you can only buy one.

I don't know your situation and it may be that you can't break your order up into two parts. I know that I would prefer to place only one order. But for me, it works out better to place my orders separately.

Actually, I don't think she will spend more on shipping if she orders her Y2 first and then her books, Beth. We don't offer shipping discounts on TOG; only on books.

We've also recently changed our price structure because we want to encourage (and facilitate) unit by unit purchases, rather than big, up front ones. Now, over 200 individual titles have been discounted, making our Bookshelf competitive with almost every other vendor out there, especially when you consider shipping charges.

This way, moms can tweak as they go, changing learning levels as their kids change mid-year, without feeling the pressure of shipping charges. Our new low threshold for free shipping is $150 in BOOKS, via Media Mail. Almost everyone can hit that threshold when ordering a unit for two or more learning levels.

Check it all out: Bookshelf special offers

Try entering a typical unit list in both our Bookshelf and your choice of competitive online stores. You should find that the bottom line (when you INCLUDE SHIPPING CHARGES) is either less or very competative, and when you add in the fact that we carry all the books we recommend, we hope you'll come to us for one-stop, affordable easy shopping as you begin each new unit. Smiler

GRRRRR! Smiler I SO wish this had been the case when I bought Y1 (the year before last - when you had discounted whole-unit book packages). I purchased all the Y1 LG books at the start, but midway through unit 2 decided to buy many of the UG books to supplement. I'm glad I have the LG books, because my Preschooler can enjoy them right along with his older brother, but some of the UG books that I didn't want to purchase, my library also doesn't carry.

I'll learn from this, and will buy books by the unit for Y2, and SAVE myself some frustration, and likely some money, too.
