I don't know about any of you, but the lack of a simple and concise book list is my greatest (and really only)frustration with TOG. So, for Y1 units 2 & 3 I have made my own. I have them for both LG and UG, and they are broken down by week. If you would like them, please shoot me an email! I have never understood why TOG has not seen fit to provide them...? Anyhow, if any of you have other years/units available, I would love them!!

Happy studies!

S,

If you have purchased TOG directly from Lampstand Press you can generate a concise reading list including which weeks each book is used by clicking on Store then selecting Resource List from the right side column. This list can be adapted to meet your needs to include book descriptions and more. Hope this helps you on future units.

Blessings,

S,

Just so you're aware - the TOG booklists are copyrighted and are not to be shared. As mentioned above, you can generate a reading list at the Lampstand Press store.

Sorry folks, I had no idea that the booklists were copyrighted! Not trying to do anything illegal here! :-)

I have tried several times to use the Lampstand resource feature, but I purchased my TOG too long ago- so it won't let me access them. It seems like an oversight that there would not be a way for older TOG purchasers to have access to the same information!

Somesarah,

If you purchased TOG directly from Lampstand Press and already have an online account with TOG you can try checking the box that says, "Look up old/phone orders," on the Resource List Selection box. If that still doesn't work, call TOG and they will activate that feature for your account. I had to call about a Year plan that I purchased before their new online system. The TOG people quickly and cheerfully setup my account so that I could access the Resource List.

I hope you will soon have access to this helpful list. I really appreciate that it can be easily imported into Excel.

Blessings,
jfurlough

Not sure if you will get this but I would love to have a copy of this list. I really want to let you know that you will also not be in copyright violation by sharing a book list. As long as it is not the actual book.

I was finally able to get to the resource list- but it still is not what I was hoping for. What I have done is a Week/Week breakdown of what books are needed, by level. It has been great to have it all(the whole unit) available at a glance. Since I have to hit the library weekly, I needed something more concise and portable.

I love this curriculum- but I feel like I spend so much time hunting for what I need, it seems like there has to be a way to make it more streamlined... I still feel like I wander back into the *fog* every once in a while--- even though this is our second year to be doing TOG!

I wonder if the DE version bridges this gap. I am thinking of switching next year... The search feature would be wonderful!!!

I am not sure what the copyright policy is, I couldn't actually find it on their website. But, I like to err on the side of caution, so am not going to email out what the booklists I consolidated.

If anybody knows where the info is regarding booklists being copyrighted, that would be helpful!

Much grace!
Sarah

I would love to have your book list.

I, too, have been frustrated without one.

Thanks!

We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience. I've been working away at improving the Resource List, and there may be some things it does NOW that it didn't do last time you checked. Here are the new features to check out:
  • Week by week searches now available. (Type "3" to get all books for week 3, or 3-6 to get all books for weeks 3-6.)
  • Alternate books now available for years 1-3. (Year 4 coming soon.)

Let me know if those features aren't working for you!

Wow! Just when I thought I had tapped into all available helps on this website, only to find this very slick feature! The resource list and it's features are just what I am needing. My ds (senior, R-level) just yesterday said, why did you quit printing out our reading list and putting it on the wall? I stopped because I thought it redundant and wasteful, since it was just the yellow-bordered page that he could go to in my binder. This is far more concise and clear.

I do have one question though: Why are some books listed multiple times? For example, The Good Fight: How WWII Was Won and The Hiding Place are both listed 3 times?

I ave just had the go-ahead from my DH to start ToG in January. All I did was go to Bookstore Central and followed the "Year", "Unit", "Level" etc categories to find the books needed for each unit. My Dh suggested I start off by buying the books so I don't have the added stress of library searching whilst starting so many new things at once (I nearly fell over when he said this!). I am buying them one unit at a time to spread the cost. We feel that books are always an investment in life!

Anyhow, if you do it that way, you get the list of the books for each unit - I plan to keep them in a basket to have ready to access for the children. I don't think there are ever more than 13 books for one unit. I know I am only using one level for my 2 DC ho are schooling at present, but by the time we are doing multi-level, I am guessing I will have more of an idea how everything is organised. All in all, it doesn't seem overly complicated?!
