I had a question on the Rhetoric reading assignments for Universe Next Door. It looks like chapter 5 is assigned in both weeks 5 and 9 - one for worldview and one for philosophy. Is that correct??

Chapter 5 should only be assigned in week 9, and that under Philosophy.

The next time we put out a DE update, this correction will be on there.

I'm a little confused If that reading is assigned, why do the Threads and SAP both say that there is no Philosophy assignment or objectives for the week? What is the purpose of the reading?

Janet, the book should be listed in the "Worldviews" row, which doesn't necessarily mean "philosophy" (if it is listed under philosophy then we may need to correct that---Dana can help answer this question). The Universe Next Door is a general worldviews handbook and I can tell you that at least one reason why it is assigned in Week 9 is because I needed students to read about Existentialism in order to tackle their Week 9 literature assignment. ;-)

Ok. I think I have it - and I assume it'll be this way in the next update: The Universe Next Door Chapter 5 is only assigned to read in week 9, under Worldview/Church History Elective. It is not assigned to read in week 5 at all. Is that it? Thanks for the explanation of why, Christy, that was very helpful!
