Hello Fellow TOGers,
Where can I get a list of books that I will be using for YR2? I purchased YR2 Redesigned and I didn't find the book list in the Loom. Could someone please guide me? Thank you! Isa |

Go to the Bookshelf and use the 5-step process, but start with step 2, since you already own the year-plan. You'll find all the primary resources there.
Or, if you prefer, you can use the Power Search feature. Both methods have their advantages; experiment and see which you prefer. Beth R (15), D (12), LG (7) TOG y3 Redesigned Math: Singapore Primary Mathematics, NEM Spell to Write and Read Science: Singapore German, Spanish |

Hi Isa,
We are in the process of uploading the new alternates charts onto the Loom, which is why you likely didn't find anything in the last couple of days. So, look on the new TOG website, click on "Loom," and you'll see a toolbar on the left. Be looking later today for the alternates. Beth is correct about how to find listing for primary resources. I, too, can't find the Year 2 Resource List. I'm looking for the huge spreadsheet that we were able to download (from the Loom, right?) to use/sort as we please. I've purchased Year 2 and have been looking at the online Loom, but I only see the alternate list, not the Primary Resource list. Please help.
Thanks much! Deb |

Yes, that is the list I am looking for, the Year 2 Resource List.
Thanks Deb! Isa |

After getting some help from a friend, I found it. It is hard to find which is suprising since it is such a critical document, in my opinion. Here you go (you had to have purchased Year 2 to do this - they will link your groupee account with Year 2 documents):
www.tapestryofgrace.com Click on the Loom Click on Year 2 Loom on the left side of the page Click on Start Here Then click on the big bar at the bottom of the page called Year 2 Book Updates Chart Then click on the tiny little link to The Loom on the right at the top. That should do it. Deb |

Hi all,
I believe what may be confusing you is that we have changed the title; it is now "Year x Alternates Charts," which has a link in the left toolbar under "start here" in a given year-plan's Loom. As the new title indicates, this is just the alternates; you can get the primary listings from the Bookshelf. Blessings, Dana C. in TN "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!" Deut. 32:2-4 |

So, are you saying that we can get the Primary Resource List Excel spreadsheet from the Bookshelf? The Bookshelf is nice, but from what I see, it does not meet the need of being able to see all the books you are going to need for the year very easily. I used the Primary Resource List Excel spreadsheet nearly daily during this year. I liked how I could sort it how I wanted and print it off to bring to book fairs, refer to it when I needed to order more books etc... Most of my friends in my co-op were doing the same thing. So, that's why I say this spreadsheet is such a critical document and very much appreciated and also why I was surprised how many clicks it took to find it.

I think they discontinued this. You must have missed the huge thread on the Information about Using Tapestry. It is under Resource lists. I copied and pasted Marcia's last post:
Posted 26 February 2008 02:11 PM Hide Post quote: Originally posted by polarbearla: I think Lampstands new direction is fair and addresses both sides of this issue. It will take a bit more work for those of us who like the information about what week the book is used and to find out when a book is repeated in different levels. In general for all the things the Power Search does NOT do that the Excel Reading List DID do it will take a bit extra effort on our part and some of us will need to adapt and do things differently. However, I truly think that is fair if it means it will lighten the burden at Lampstand and most especially make things less confusing for the poor moms who stuggle with the RL and want to just print out a booklist. Personally, I feel very positive about the new Power Search and a PDF for the alternative books. I think it will work very well for our families needs. Addressing other issues about the website. I am going on the assumption that the new Power Search is just phase 1 that was indicated by Marcia earlier. It's my understanding that Lampstand is going to work on navigation of finding where to create this list and informing people on the website about where to go and what to do. Thanks for that! I think we really have reached a good solution here, and would like to, for now, close this topic with this summary. 1. I've been talking to our computer programmers here, and they are saying that it would be better for them to have a larger window for making the Power Search and Personal Planning Page interfaces picture perfect. We certainly don't want to take down the existing RLs before the new Bookshelf interface is practically perfect in every way. So, until further notice, the RLs will continue to be sent out on the Year 1 Loom and continue to be posted on the Year 2 Loom interface. 2. We will move towards elminating our support of the Excel RL for Primary books as we move forwards. Bookshelf features such as the Power Search and Personal Planning List will be enhanced so that customers can find and use them to create their own, personal digital Resource Lists that are printable as they are, and easily exported to databases if they so desire. As soon as we feel that the Bookshelf is strong: has good explanations and navigation for newcomers and works seamlessly between the Power Search and the Planning List, enabling all customers to create personal Resource Lists, we will announce the elimination (ongoing) of current Excel RLs. 3. When we remove the Excel RLs, we will mount/place on Loom interfaces new links to both a document that explains how to use the Bookshelf tools AND three versions of an Alternates RL. Three pdfs will be offered as pre-sorted, simplified versions of the year-plan's one Alternates RL's. These three documents will be pre-sorted by: 1) use (by year/unit/week), 2)by learning level, and 3) alphabetically by book titles. Customers who are familiar with computers and PDFs should be able to convert these files to spreadsheets as well. 4. Those with dial up or slow Internet connections have two options: one of using a public library computer to quickly create personalized RLs using our Power Search, or the other, using our printable Order Form, which is downloadable and also comes in hard copy with each new year-plan. TO REITERATE AND AMPLIFY: We are not yet done with Bookshelf programming and features, so please pray for us and have patience as we work to make this interface the best it can be. THANKS AGAIN to all who thoughtfully and patiently contributed to this thread. We feel that we have truly heard from a broad spectrum of users and have come to a good place for all. Blessings, Marcia No one can do me a greater kindness in this world than to pray for me. --Charles Spurgeon |

When you do the power search and just do unit 2 books grammar level (or whatever you want) then you can copy and paste it into your excel program. I did it and it worked well. Christine |

No, I didn't see the huge thread. Honestly, I don't have time to look at the boards on a regular basis and I'm amazed at how others do. I simply saw that someone else was looking for the same document I was so I jumped on this thread.
I'm sure there are good reasons for the changes in the RL procedure, but I'm sure disappointed that, after I feel like I just got in the swing of things with TOG, that something else has changed again. Using TOG is overwhelming enough as it is (for me) and I can't wait for the day when there will be fewer changes! But like I said, I'm sure lots and lots of thought was put into the change and I do greatly appreciate the curriculum. I'm just whining that I have to learn something new again! Thanks for trying to help me out and for listening. Deb |

I've read through the posts and still feel a little dense in regards to getting a booklist in the format I want for Y2. I printed off the alternate book list and went to the Bookshelf but really what I'm looking for is a place where I can print off just the reading list so I can go week-by-week. Since I'm headed off to a curriculum fair in 6 hours, I pulled all of the reading lists out week-by-week and at some point I'll have to put them all back. Is there a place to print off just these weekly reading list?

Hi,
The only place that you'll find the Reading Assignment Charts is in the year-plan. The two charts (from Bookshelf, as well as alternates) do tell how many weeks a book is used, so that should help some. Also...for those who aren't aware of this...when we price the books on the Bookshelf, we compare to other major retailers and give you a price at or below the others. So...your comparison shopping has already been done for you! Blessings, Dana C. in TN "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!" Deut. 32:2-4 |

No; there isn't a public weekly reading list. But have you found the "Power Search" feature of the Bookshelf? It will help you with titles and number of weeks used. Individual book pages give you added information for each book. The Power Search is linked to the blue toolbar at the top of each page of the Bookshelf. From the resulting list, you can cut/paste into Excel and sort/print to your heart's content. We do not recommend that people choose primary books without having the curriculum in hand. If you DO have it in hand, this Power Search seems to work well for most moms. Sorry for the confusion and need for haste in your case. If you have more trouble, don't hesitate to call customer service: 1-800-705-7487. Blessings, Marcia No one can do me a greater kindness in this world than to pray for me. --Charles Spurgeon |
