Hi,

I'm considering using SOTW as my spine...I know with the classic TOG year plans, someone had posted a lovely chart that incorporated the Kingfisher History Encyclopedia, SOTW and TOG.

Has this been redone for Redesigned?? I looked on various websites, but the TOG topics were different so I assumed they referred to TOG Y2 Classic...

Thanks!!

SOTW 2 and 3 is scheduled as an alternate resource in the redesign. Almost every week in the first three units has a SOTW reading scheduled (I only noticed two that don't have anything scheduled - there may be more). In unit four there are a handful of weeks (3 or 4, maybe?) that don't have anything scheduled.

I can't say whether every chapter is covered (I doubt it).

Yes, thank you!! I *did* see that SOTW was already scheduled as an "alternate"...

I was just curious if someone had an updated chart that included "Kingfisher History Encyclopedia" and "History of US"...

Thanks!!

Now that I've done some more research...I'm thinking it was Year 3 and Year 4 that included "History of US" by Hakim.

If anyone is interested, AND it's not against any copyright rules, I'm working on a chart that cross references TOG, SOTW, Usborne Internet Linked History Encyclopedia and Kingfisher History Encyclopedia,(depending on people's preferences) and I'll be including "History of US" where appropriate. I'd be willing to share what I come up with...just email me privately.

Thanks!!

Hi Amy,
It does go against copyright if you give the TOG assignments. You can list the week # and the title of the week and it will be okay, just not the actual assignments.

Hi,
I am unaware of there being more than one edition of The Story of the World. Can you share a link with me so that I can figure out what you are talking about? Smiler

Thanks!

Hi, The Story of the World Volume 1 and Volume 2 has Revised Editions i saw them on CBD and Rainbow Resource when i looked these up, i don't know how to add a link to this , i did look at someones file on matching SOTW vol 2 with TOG and it said the book was 2003 (i believe) so im thinking this chart was made for the original SOTW so thats what i bought, but i didnt know in the Redesign TOG if they are referring to the Revised SOTW for the additional resource or not? Thanks for your help on this. God bless, billiejo

Hi Billiejo,

I didn't know SOTW had been revised either. I just checked my copy of SOTW -- the copyright is 2003. The pages #'s line up perfectly with TOG Y2 R.

Hope this helps!!

Hi again,

I decided to do some research at the Peace Hill Press website. This is what I found:

QUOTE: "I see you have revised editions of Volumes 1 and 2 of The Story of the World. What can you tell me about them?
Glad you asked. We're really excited about the revised editions. We have added new maps, new illustrations, a new timeline, and a new pronunciation guide to the book. The text is still the same great story you know from the first edition. We've added a few clarifying notes to parents. We also re-designed the book itself, to make it easier to read."

Does this help??

Ok, thanks for giving me this information. The page numbers in your year-plan for this series of books is from the newest edition...2003 or 2004, depending on the volume.

Blessings,
