I don't know if this has been mentioned before but these are two free website where you can access some of the history books for year 2 ( and year 1). Librivox is a collecction of MP3 recordings of certain public domain books. We used it for Famous Men of Rome last year and my kids could't get enough. They love audio books so this helped to change things up a bit from reading on their own. We re planning on using it for Famous men of the Middle ages this year (even thouhg we've already bought the book). www.librivox.org
The other is The Baldwin Project, www.mainlesson.com wich has public domain books like Our Island Story and The Story of Europe for viewing for free. You can also print them out along with the artwork from the original books. Very Cool! We are plannig on supplimenting with this website also, since we are using TOG for 3 children this year and it can get very pricey!! Hope this helps some of you out there.....May the Lord bless your year more than you could imagine!!
