Does anyone know where to find the Author Index, Story Analysis, and Poetry Analysis documents referred to in the Loom document on teaching R-level literature? Do they still exist? (I printed out this document last year for Year 2 Redesigned and was rereading it again for Year 3.)

Thank you!

Ellen,
I think what you are looking for is on the Loom under Literature Helps. There is a link to Poetry and a link to Frameworks.

Hi Ellen! Actually, that's a big fat typo. :-/ I'm so sorry! Those documents are the old versions of Poetics, so please just ignore that. :-) I found the typo a few days ago, and hopefully we will get a correction page posted soon, because it IS a confusing mistake.

Thank you for your patience and graciousness with the human errors that come with curriculum development! We so appreciate it. :-)

Actually I have the same question. Where are these documents? I have spent about 2 hours trying to find them on the loom. We are on week 3 and need the story analysis.
Thanks

What year are you doing? If you're doing year 2, first printing, it should be on the Loom, year 2, under Literature Helps. That's where Story Analysis is listed. Have you not received a Loom disk yet? If not, it should be arriving soon.

If you don't have the first printing, then I think what CJ was saying is that Story Analysis wasn't the correct assignment, and it looks to me like the new assignments have now been posted. Poetics is the new, combined version of Story Analysis and Poetry Analysis - this is a very good change, since previously there was a lot of repetition between the two.

I admit that, as an owner of a first printing, I am now coveting a full copy of the reading assignments in the new Poetics document, along with the new document itself. It's far from being worth investing in another copy, but it would be nice to be able to assign the more streamlined version next time we make it through Year 2 - especially since Year 2 is so tough to begin with.

Is there a quick way to locate information on a specific author? I see that the author index pages for Year 3's literature are found on pages 85 - 146. If I want to find information on Tennyson, for example, is there a way to jump right to the Tennyson section without that slow scroll through page after page?

Thanks for any help!

Vicki, try doing a search for "Tennyson," either by holding down CTRL and then hitting "F", or by clicking on the little binoculars on the toolbar. :-)

Whoa -- great tip! The little binoculars trick searched 110 pages in less than ten seconds.

Nice! Thanks, Christy!

Hey (light dawning) -- I bet that trick works for other PDF documents, too... not just Tapestry ones.
