I could use some help with how to "grade" in history. I think the TOG evaluations are too hard for my six year old. I have made up two review tests for each unit. But I don't really know what else to count toward her grade. Any comments/suggestions?

I am not grading history this year but will be required to report a grade to the state next year. I ask a couple of questions based on the student threads to see if what we are learning is sticking. Good dinnertime conversation starters!! If I take notes on what is and isn't going well I can give the state a grade. IMO there is no right or wrong on a test as long as we are learning and moving forward at this young age. Sorry if I didn't really answer your question. I think that if your 6 year old is listening quietly while you read and can narrate or draw and caption what she just learned: give her an A+!!!
