I know I need TOG Year 1. I am also thinking I will order Writing Aids. Do I need anything else?

Do you need anything else? No. Will other things be helpful to you? Probably. It all depends on what you are planning to try to accomplish, and how much money you're willing to spend.

For example, you don't need Map Aids. You can find outline maps in other resources or online. However, if you buy Map Aids, you will not have to spend time seeking out the perfect map for a particular week. If you are planning to do geography often, this could make a real difference in your planning time. You'll have to decide if it's worth it. This is the third year I'm doing Tapestry, and the first time I'm ordering Map Aids.

The same goes for almost everything else. Nothing except the year-plan itself is mandatory; everything is helpful. But if you actually purchase everything, you may find yourself so overwhelmed with wonderful resources that you can't use them all.

Again, I started with only the year-plan, and I mostly used the library for books. I've come to appreciate the value offered by the other products, but we had a great time with the basic plan alone. You'll have to make the call for your own family!
