Hi all. Earlier this year we were doing Classical Conversations and TOG together, and CC uses Veritas Press for Timeline, so we were doing that. But we dropped CC as it didn't line up with what we were doing in TOG and got too confusing (among many other reasons I won't go into here). But, I saw that TOG uses the History Through the Ages Timeline figures, and they look great. First of all, does anyone do timeline figures for their LG (I think TOG recommends waiting until UG or above), and secondly, if you do, do you use VP or the History Through the Ages and why? Thirdly, I would love to know how you use it in your home (on the wall, in a book, etc.) Thanks for your help.

I have one LG student, and I do use the Timline in the Woods figures.

We don't use an actual timeline, per se, but sometimes we'll do a mini-book with figures "in order" for how we studied them. For example: when we finished WWII, I gave them 9-10 figures and had them put them in chronological order. It was a great review!

Has anybody used a timeline different from Homeschool in the Woods? I was thinking about combining that with a pre-filled in one. I think it would add to our understanding to have one.

BTW, on the Year 2 Yahoo group a lady has uploaded a great file she made for a timeline where you can write and/or paste pictures on the pages! Check it out! I'll try using that, but wondered if anybody has done anything besides HIW.

I made my own. I printed out dates on cardstock and glued them together accordian-style. Very time-consuming, but worth it! This way the timeline can stretch across the room to see the "big picture," but we can also open it like a book while working on it.

For timeline figures I just find something online that I can use (free clipart) and print out the items on mailing labels, cut them up, and adhere them to the timeline like stickers.
