I posted a bit back and am posting again.
We are going into week 4 with our first year of homeschooling after public schools. I have a 7 year old second grader. She is either extremely hormonal, going through public school withdrawl, bored stiff or I am not doing enough.
Is she too young for UG??

She is flying through Beta math.
Reads proficiently.
Excellent penmanship- wants to learn cursive
Explode the Code (3,4) and Spelling for a Reason- breezes through.
First Language Lessons- She looks at me like I have three heads when I read the poems to memorize, ask her to narrate a picture or tell me what a pronoun is (all of which we can do with ease)......

What am I missing!!!

I had a similar situation when my daughter was in 2nd grade level. I had her read the UG lit assignments, in addition to her other work. We didn't do the accompanying worksheets though. My daughter also wanted to learn cursive- until I finally bought the book and had her start doing it, HAHA! So, we did cursive through Handwriting Without Tears, but what she has really enjoyed is learning to type. She is 5th now and we started the typing about 3rd grade. Have you thought about scraping grammar and just doing writing aids for now? That's what we did and used Prima Latina. My 'plan' is to use Analytical Grammar in a few years...

Well, I pray that you won't become discouraged. We've all wasted time and money on things we thought would be great for homeschool, only to realize our little darlings have their own personalities!

BTW, are you doing science at all? When my dtr was that age she really enjoyed reading the Apologia books.

God Bless You!!!
