Marcia,
I just got the link from Dody on TOG Loose Threads. My first thought.....WOW!!!

Go to Egypt not only clearly explains TOG but it is so beautiful!

I'm so happy to be among the proud TOG users. Smiler

May His face continue to shine on you and your family,

Marcia --
I absolutely loved the 'Go to Egypt' and think that it is very well laid out. We are brand new to Tapestry, having just started at the beginning of January (we are currently in Week 5). I know that I had been overwhelmed at trying to figure it all out when I printed out and entire Week plan of material when it was set up the old way.

This new section of the website does an excellent job explaining every aspect of Tapestry, including all of the optional add-on's. I especially enjoyed all of the notes that you added to show how to save time & also encourage independent learning with our students.

If I wasn't already completely sold on Tapestry, I know that 'Go to Egypt' would sell me on it for sure. Great work!

This is AWESOME! A friend was just asking me why I like ToG so much and asked if it would be a good choice for her. I am so excited to pass on this website so she can check it out herself. What a wonderful tool! I will be spreading the word.

Marcia, I absolutely LOVE what you have done with Go to Egypt. Amazingly professional (as in: it looks likes it's been done by a huge company!). My only complaint is that with my slow dial-up, it takes forever for me to load each page. In the News section, did I read that there is a version available through Lampstand? Does this mean something like a CD/DVD? Can you please explain what I read there?

Otherwise, I think this is fabulous. It would be incredible to be able to include a presentation like this at a Tapestry Tea.

It looks great.

I put a link for it on www.thehomeschoollibrary.com, and I'm sure others will link to it in other forums and venues as well.

It's nice to have a way to SHOW how it works, rather than just trying to explain!!!

Marcia,

I found 'Go to Egypt' today when I was going to the TOG site. What a pleasant surprise! The layout does help explain Tapestry in a way that is right at our fingertips - especially for those who don't have it in hand yet. My husband and I have made our decision that this is our curriculum of choice for our family and are excited that we will be purchasing it soon so that we can really start sinking our teeth into it. Thank you for all of your hard work.

God bless,
Rebecca Thomas

Marcia,

What a treat! This is truly excellence.

I found it beautiful to look at and informative as well. Although I've used TOG for almost 2 years, I still learned new things that will help me use it better.

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement.

I did have the sense that it should be narrated, though. I guess it looked so much like a National Geographic special that I almost expected to hear the narrator guiding me through the material. If you did add a voice, perhaps limit it to the introductory and explanatory paragraphs at the start of each page.

Again, kudos to you and the Lampstand staff.

A marvelous result from an obviously tremendous effort!

You all continue to bless us and we appreciate itSmiler

This looks like a good layout of the program. However, as I was listening to the Pop Quiz, I found an error. When I clicked on the Grammar level of Year 1, I heard a repeat of the introduction. Thank you for all of your hard work; I am keeping you all in prayer.

NOTE: this has now been corrected.

Sheesh... I MEANT to post a reply here, but I started a new discussion instead. Oops. I posted it in this "poll" forum under "K-Mom and TOG with Little People Only."

Sorry. Love the Go to Egypt mini-unit by the way!

Marcia,

I absolutely -love- the layout with all the stickies. And I am so thankful that there are samples of the lapbooks! Now I know what to order for next year. Smiler

Is it acceptable for us to request a few cd's to hand out to people who ask us about this? It would make a great impression.

I've been hemming and hawing about TOG next year (Redesign yr. 2)since my oldest is only 7 and I don't want to become overwhelmed and then not use TOG for dialectic/rhetoric like I plan to. Go to Egypt was a great help to me in making my decision for TOG. The biggest help to me was the stickies that show how to pare the curriculum down to the barest level-it made me (and I'm sure others)feel I could do the program without becoming overwhelmed by sticking to just the minimums outlined by the stickies.

Being able to see the Writing Aids in more detail helped me to feel more confident about doing the writing portion-that I'll have lots of handholding! I probably would not have thought to purchase the Writing Aids at this level, but after seeing it in more detail, I would not be without it!

I also told a friend to check this out, a friend who was also interested in TOG, but worried about it for grammar age. I felt the stickies did such a great job of explaining! Thank you and God bless you.
