In looking at the warnings for week 5 , it suggests not having 15 year olds and below read "All's quiet on the Western Front", but there is no suggestion for a substitute. With the exception of two students, most of our Lit co-op fits into that 15 and younger age group.
Any suggestions? Dawn Dawn Mom To The 4 Es |

Dawn,
The Teaching Rhetoric Literature document suggests you either take a break during weeks 5-6 or read and study only the selected poems from World War I poets included during those weeks. Blessings, Susan in La Mom to 16yods (R), 15yods (R), 12yo dd (D), 11yo dd (D) Redesigned 4 “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Gen. 1:28) |

You may want to read/skim it yourself and decide. When our co-op read it the kids were 14 and 15 and they did fine with it. A couple of them were girls and a couple of them were guys. It really depends on the family. We only picked a few of the lit. books to read that year together and this was one of them.
Blessings, Barb |
