I bought Y4 U1 in mid July. Downloaded it (and updated LockLizard). I changed Macs from the MacBook to MacBook Pro last week, and they transferred the info for me at Apple.

When I tried to open it to do lesson plans this week (in prep for starting school next month), the download would only open as a text file (and it shows up as gibberish).

I trashed the first original download and re-downloaded it, but it's still doing the same thing.

Advice? Questions? Ideas?

PS I did ask Ray about this and he suggested chatting with tech support. I haven't been home at the right times to do that, so if I don't get any solutions here, I'll do that Monday.

Hi, Tawdra!

I don't think you ever told me you had a new computer (or if you did, I missed that).

I've added another license to your LockLizard account.

If your interface is opening as a text document, that means that there's something wrong with the way your computer reads local .htm files.

If your interface comes up, but .pdc files are opening as text documents, you'll need to reinstall LockLizard Safegaurd Viewer (link at the downloads and updates page).

Finally, log into your account at the store, go to My Account and click the grey Refresh button.

One last question: when I had my husband look at this, he noted that the file is a .exe file, while my Y3 TOG was a .dmg file. Don't know if this makes a difference, but wanted to share all the info.

AND we just looked at my order online--it reads Computer--PC not MAC. Does that make a difference?

The downloads for PC are .exe's and the downloads for Mac are .dmg's.

The solution to your immediate problem is to go to the download page and get the correct version.

Are you saying you ordered one thing but the file that was sent was wrong, or did you just order the wrong version?

That's a very good question. It's probably that I ordered the wrong version, although why I would have done that I don't know--I can only attribute it to an aging brain or too much sun.

So do I need to buy the Mac version?

Downloaded Mac version. Also trashed old LockLizard and downloaded new LL. It's telling me "Failed to check license. Invalid license store."

I'm feeling quite thwarted.

Make sure you're signed in as an Administrator before registering your license.

If you are signed in as an Administrator, something may have gone wrong with the download of the LockLizard Safeguard Viewer software or the license file. Try reinstalling the LockLizard Safeguard Viewer software and registering your license again.

Okay.

I got rid of all the previous downloaded LockLizards and Y4 U1 files.

I then downloaded LockLizard again and installed it. I downloaded the Y4 updates (issued 8/19). I am now able to open the Workbook pages, but anything with the little LL symbol next to it tells me that there is an invalid license store.

I am signed in as the administrator.
