Hi,
I just wondered if anyone has anyone actually made up lesson plans based on the Sample pages illustrated under scheduling on the main Tapestry site? I have Year 1 and would like to continue with Year 2 but need help in this area for a smoother school year! I am willing to pay someone for their assistance.

Thanks,
Tracie

Hi Tracie, I'm not absolutely positive that I understand your question, so if I reply in a way that has you scratching your head, just correct me!! Wink

I have created a blank form that I fill out on a weekly basis for my kids that gives their assignments for the week on a daily basis. I have one for my older boy, one for my younger boy and a combined sheet for my little girls. I have also included places for math, science, writing, geography, church history, fine arts/activities, English/language arts, literature and history (depending on which child it is for). All I need to do is look at the weekly assignment sheet in TOG's TM and decide how I want to break down the assignments. That way I can tailor our week to any outside activities we may be doing, or to holidays, etc.

I created my forms in Microsoft Works (not Excel), but basically it's a spreadsheet format. I included check-boxes and a place for the dates of the week. I'd be happy to email them to you if you'd like to see them (free of charge!!) I've shared them with other moms and some had difficulty opening the Works program, others did not, so I don't know that it will necessarily come through, but I'm more than happy to try. Shoot me an email (I'm pretty sure my email addy is on my profile page.)

(if this does not answer your question, please disregard this reply! Big Grin )

I should say from the start that I am very NEW to TOG- we are in week 7/unit 1 of our first year. (Doing year 2.) but I wanted to share with you what has worked for us. I do not make daily lesson plans but follow this routine:

Mondays & Tuesdays: reading (I read aloud to the younger kiddos...the older two like to both listens in & read by themself)

Wednesdays: "off" day- we have music lessons. The children often read more b/c they like to read each other's books. Smiler

Thursday: worksheets & mapwork

Friday: lapbook & timeline (we use the figures from Homeschool in the Woods- paste the figures in manila folders)

Saturday: projects (I have to be honest- these have been very FEW. We plan on having a big celebration at the end of each unit.)

I set up a binder for each child before starting our unit. Each week has a tab & then I place the reading assignments (highlight which books they are to read), worksheets & any other student activity pages, map and lapbook page to cut & do. This keeps it all organized & they can pull it out to use. (I took my idea from this blog: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/karenciavo/)

I hope that all helps!

Oh, I forgot to mention that we use IEW for writing. We write for history at least once a week (or try to- LOL) but that comes at another part of the day.

Under organization, this one is an Excel spreadsheet. I customize it every so often to keep up with us and I fill in the reading assignments on Monday morning while my UG is working on table work.

I knew someone would pay for those plans!

I've thought often about contacting TOG to ask for a job doing them.

I don't think we're allowed to share week specific plans due to TOG copyright.
