I'm reading two documents from the Loom: "Credits for Redesigned Year 1" and "Grading Year 1 Rhetoric-Level Literature". Is the literature grade discussed in the second document the grade I would give for Honors English or is it the grade I would give for only a Literature course (I'm using Option 1)? Do I need to add in all the writing assignments (30 weeks worth), in order to have a grade for Honors English?
Thanks for any help! This will be my first year with a high school student and I'm so overwhelmed with figuring out documentation and calculating grades and credits!!!

As I understand the documents, the literature grade discussed in "Grading Rhetoric Literature" is the grade you would give for only a Literature course.

For an Honors English credit, your student would complete all assignments, including the written exercises for literature (found in the Student Activity Pages) and at least 30 weeks of composition assignments from both literature and writing (the red-bordered pages). The literature composition assignments include one literary analysis paper and one literary comparison paper.

The Unit Introductions usually outline which literature composition assignments are offered in the unit so you can plan for them. The literature composition assignments are also mentioned in the Glance into Next Week sections and in the Literature Teacher's Notes the first week of the assignment. Sometimes you may need to substitute the literature composition assignments for the writing assignments that are assigned during those weeks.
